First Steps

This tutorial explains how to display a video on a screen.
It’ll explain how to link boards or locations to a lalbox and how to assign a media to an item.

  • A Centiloc Board
  • NFC Tags
  • Your TenantID
  • Having an account with user rights at least

1. Assign boards / locations to lalbox

First step is to find the lalbox you want to assign to boards or location. This is the setup of your lalbox environment.

1.1. Find lalbox serial

  1. Connect to lalui using your configured account.
  2. Go to LalBox page.
  3. Find the lalbox serial number.

The logic of association between board’s and lalbox screen rely on a single label .lal with the lalbox serial as value.

One lalbox can be related to several boards and several locations. However, one board or location can only be assigned to one lalbox at a time.

  1. Go to centui, and log in using your configured account.
  2. Go to Board page.
  3. Select the board you want to assign to the lalbox.
  4. Select Add labels in the action menu.
  5. Add the label: .lal::LALBOX_SN

  1. Go to enrolui, and log in using your configured account.
  2. Go to Location page.
  3. Create a location following the tutorial.
  4. Add the label .lal::LALBOX_SN to the labels list.

Do not forget to link your new location to shelves so they are linked to boards.

2. Assign product to media

Now that your setup is configured, you need to configure the link between a product and a media.

You can assign a media to a product in two different ways. Both ways are described in this tutorial.

3. Assign product to items

The final step is to link product to items. This is what will allow the system to trigger media display on item’s out event.

  1. Go to centui, and log in using your configured account.
  2. Go to Item page.
  3. Select the item you want to assign a product to.
  4. Select Set Product in the action menu.
  5. Enter the product reference and save it.

Another way of linking product to items is by using the enrolment flow.

4. Trigger the media

You are now ready to display your first media.

  1. Place the item on the board/location assigned to your lalbox.
  2. Take the item out of the board/location.
  3. The media should be displayed on the screen.
  4. Put back the item on the board/location.
  5. The media should stop.
Media are only triggered on out events from items. However, if the media is being displayed an in event will stop the display.
