Enrolment

Enrolment

  • Your gateway must be configured and running

The enrolment is a sequence designed to set a modbus network up. The aim is to configure each CADS behind a single gateway with a unique modbus address. Thus, Geocore Platform (Cloud, OnPrem) is responsible to maintain a consistency between a board identity and the way to access it behind a gateway.

Centui

You can also set your modbus network using Centui. On the Gateway view, select your gateway of interest, and then choose the action of your choice in the Actions drop list:

  • Enrol known boards, if you know the CADS’ serial number
  • Find and enrol board, if you do not known the CADS’s serial number

Enrolment Token

When you are using either FindAndEnrol endpoint, or Find and enrol board from Centui interface, you have to use a Serial Enrolment Token. The serial enrolment token must be put on the CADS to enrol, no other NFC tag should be on the CADS. Then either FindAndEnrol endpoint should be called, or Find and enrol board action should be triggered from Centui interface.

Topology changes

In case a Gateway or a Board must be replaced, or moved to another network, you might need to restart an enrolment.

In any case, you can override a configuration by restarting an enrolment. An enrolment can be partial. This means that, if you move a board to another already setuped gateway, you can just enrol the new board to the new gateway, this will adapt the topology both in the board and in the Geocore Platform.

Finally, if major topology changes are planned, consider unenrolling boards and gateway to clean both Boards and Geocore Platform references.
