NFC Tags, Items
Whereas Boards CADS is the main innovation and product of Centiloc, NFC Tags complete the solution.
Behind every item geolocated and tracked in Geocore platform, there is an NFC tag. This electronic device carries some functionalities you can manage inside Geocore.
Geocore focuses on UID geolocation on Boards. But it also allows:
- collecting dynamic attributes for any UID
- configuring redirection URL triggered when a NFC tag is tapped
Boards support the 2 main NFC protocols: ISO14443 and ISO15693. But, as each protocol is very different from the other, the only way to support both protocol is to switch from one mode to another continuously. This is what the board can do automatically.
There are 4 configurable modes available for NFC scan:
Mode | Scanning Plan |
---|---|
ISO14443 only | the Board will only look for ISO14443 tags. |
ISO15693 only | the Board will only look for ISO15693 tags. |
ALL | the Board will automatically switch from one protocol to another looking for any type of NFC tag. |
First Found | In this mode, the Board starts in ALL mode, but then, switches to ISO14443 only or ISO15693 only depending on the protocol supported by the first tag seen. |
When ALL configuration is enabled, the Board scanning performance will be approximately divided by 2.
Tapping is the operation to trigger the access to the NFC tag content, which is usually an URL from the internet.
The URL inside the NFC tag is programmed by Centiloc, and allows a dynamic configuration of the internet URL destination of any object tapped.
For convenience, and in addition to the above URL, Geocore allows attributing information for each NFC tag:
- labels, containing sets of “key:value” or “value-only” to any NFC Tag
- with Inventory module a product reference (EAN13, SKU, any ERP product definition…)
- with Inventory module a 3D model representation
