Gateways

1. Introduction

Gateway is a device allowing Centiloc Data platform to interact with Serial Boards.

On one side, it operates Centiloc custom Modbus commands over RS485 to the boards; on the other side, it maintains MQTT connection with the data Platform.

Gateway Introduction

Centiloc can distribute different types of technology to act as a Gateway. Please follow the appropriate guides.

These industrial equipments can be integrated in any kind of physical environment.

They run a specific firmware developped and maintained by Centiloc.

2. Concepts

Gateway runs autonomously. Once supplied, it starts and is accessible from a network interface. It also joins automatically the data platform it has been configured for.

In order to access Boards behind a gateway, the Boards need to be enrolled. This procedure sets a RS485 topology up, which is used by Geocore Platform to reach a Board.

Then, the gateway can operate requests from the Data Platform and interact with enrolled Boards (configure them, ask for NFC detection…).

3. General Information

3.1. References

Gateways are identified in Geocore using:

  • Gateway Serial Number: Unique number which is manufacturer dependant.
  • Gateway Type: Used to identify a technology from a manufacturer.
