1. Introduction

This module allows Geocore users to enrich the data generated by the platform so it better reflects the customer’s environment.

It allows mapping technical data to real-world objects:

  • uid → product
  • boards → shelves, furniture, or locations

Centiloc does not intend to extend the data model beyond this level. The system does not manage domain-specific data such as chemical classifications, expiration dates, or similar information.

However, label support will progressively be added to most objects in the system.

2. Concepts

Before additional information can be generated, users must configure and enroll their environment. The enrollment process allows users to create furniture, shelves, and locations. But also (and most importantly) link uid to a product and more.

Once the environment has been setup, the NFC events detected by a board are communicated to a server with additionnal data.

The additionnal data includes:

  • the product reference associated with the NFC tag (if any)
  • the product dimensions (if available)
  • the position of the NFC tag on a furniture
  • the position of the NFC tag on a shelf
  • the location of the NFC tag

This data can then be used by a connector to inform third-party ERP systems about product movements.

A furniture is composed of several elements:

  • A furniture contains one or more shelves.
Shelves can be positioned on different levels to build the furniture.
  • A shelf can be composed of one or more boards.
The combination of boards forms the shelf surface.
  • A location represents a defined area on a shelf.
It has dimensions and represents where a product can be placed.
  • A LED strip is attached to a shelf and represents a physical LED axis.
A single physical strip may correspond to two logical LED strips (X and Y axes).
